Thanks for the edit on Andreas!

Hawkins is a good player, very athletic, but inexperienced to start. Holtz does not have a lot of experience at tight end, but keep an eye on Virgin, he will become a great player this season.

Great blog, tight end is coming back around though, from Gates to Winslow, tight end has become a weapon again, hopefully the Bulls will follow the trend.

First off, just wanted to point out a name correction. Andreas Shields, not Andrew.

Tight end is my favorite offensive position, and I really hope Holtz incorporates them into the passing game. I feel we missed out on some epic tight end performances with Cedric Hill (but oh well).

Interesting that Hawkins is number one on the list with so little experience, but hey, I'm not a coach. With that size though, it will be good having another big body on a somewhat shaky o-line situation.

Just wanted to point out a good article about tight ends from Smart Football. http://smartfootball.blogspot.com/2009/08/are-tight-ends-endangered-species.html

This is from the old blog back when it was on blogspot, the new URL for the sie is smartfootball.com. It is a great site, and well worth reading.
