On Sunday, the Bulls season ended in a dramatic 62-56 loss to the #13 seeded Ohio Bobcats. At halftime, the Bulls lead 27-21, and were exhibiting dominant defense. But in the second half, the Bobcat’s offense caught fire; shooting 50% from three point land. The Bobcats ended the game on a 18-10 run, sending the Bulls back to Tampa.
The loss to the Bobcats ended the Universities best season of basketball; the Bulls made their first NCAA Tournament apperance since 1992. Entering the 2012 NCAA Tournament, the Bulls, who were previously 0-2 in Tournament games, defeated the California Golden Bears, and the Temple Owls. For the first time in school history the Bulls defeated the Villanova Wildcats 3 times and won a pair of games in the Big East Tournament. Before the season began, many sports analysts predicted the Bulls to finish 14th in the Big East, but the team overlooked the critics, and finished tied for 4th.
