It's obvious that the tweet on Wednesday morning saying USF coach Alex Golesh had "accepted" an offer to coach the Arkansas Razorbacks was incorrect.
Does that mean Golesh is staying at USF?
No.
Then, does that mean he'll go to Arkansas?
No.
It means he hasn't made up his mind and this thing could go either way. As of now, he will be on the sidelines for USF's game on Saturday against Rice. After that, we'll see what happens.
Bulls Insider (a pay site) reported, "Sources have confirmed with both Bulls Insider and On3 that Golesh has not signed any agreement with Arkansas. Our sources indicate that the Razorbacks are in serious discussions with Golesh, and an offer of a five-year, $35 million contract is what the Bulls’ head coach is weighing against remaining in Tampa."
The site also reported Arkansas "continues to discuss the opening with other targets."
Read into that what you will, but it seems like the longer this goes on, the better it is for USF. Kevin O'Donnell reported "He just addressed his USF team and said he’s been approached by some schools."
I have confirmed USF head coach Alex Golesh has not agreed to take the Arkansas job. He just addressed his USF team and said he’s been approached by some schools. He will make his decision this weekend after discussing with his family.

Rob Higgins, USF's CEO of Athletics, tweeted on Wednesday that "We are respectful and supportive of Coach and his family in their decision making process. We’ll remain in constant communication." That likely means they are in active talks with Golesh's representatives.
Since Saturday’s game, Coach Golesh has been presented with outside opportunities that he has been transparent about with us. We are respectful and supportive of Coach and his family in their decision making process. We’ll remain in constant communication. Bulls Nation, rest…

While Golesh apparently kept Higgins informed of what was going on with Arkansas, he was reportedly miffed that his conversations became public fodder. If negotiations collapse and he stays at USF, whoever leaked that to Trey Schapp may have some explaining to do.

And there was speculation that Golesh really wanted to see what Lane Kiffin does before deciding. That conspiracy theory floated a thought that if Kiffin leaves, Golesh would become the top target at Ole Miss.
Essentially Sports posted that Ozzy Maverick, who broke the story about basketball coach John Calipari coming to Arkansas, said, “This is my final update on the coaching search. Alex Golesh’s deal is done. And by deal is done, I mean there is no deal. He was not happy about his name getting leaked out.”
Here's what we do know as the sun comes up on Thanksgiving Day. Alex Golesh is the head football coach at the University of South Florida.
At this point, anything else regarding this is pure guesswork.
