USF announced there will be two celebrations of life for men’s basketball coach Amir Abdur-Rahim, who died earlier this week while undergoing a medical procedure.

The first will be at 5 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, at Kennesaw State University outside of Atlanta, near where he grew up and coached before coming to USF. A livestream is available.

His life will then be celebrated on November 2 at 11 a.m. in the Yuengling Center on USF’s campus. It is open to the public.

Additional information about that service will be shared when it becomes available.

Abdur-Rahim's family requested that anyone wanting to honor his memory consider donating to the Future Foundation , a non-profit organization in Atlanta whose mission is to disrupt the cycle of poverty one student at a time.

His sudden passing at age 43 led to a national outpouring of tributes to his life and character.
