USF is the hottest story in college football at the moment, and the Miami Hurricanes are an iconic brand, currently ranked No. 5 in the nation.

So, with the Bulls coming off consecutive wins over ranked teams – including last Saturday against Florida at The Swamp – it might seem that the ESPN College GameDay crew would head to Miami on Saturday when the Bulls travel there to meet the ‘Canes.

Alas, no luck.

GameDay announced earlier that it will be in Knoxville when No. 6 Georgia meets No. 15 Tennessee. It was going to be in Baton Rouge for the game between LSU and the Gators, but … well  … USF ruined that idea.

There was a fair amount of grumbling on social media about ESPN’s decision to stick with the “safe” game plan of two SEC schools.

If you’re counting, this will be the 23rd time Tennessee has appeared on GameDay and the first since 2022, when the Vols beat Alabama and had an offensive coordinator named Alex Golesh.

USF? Well, technically, the Bulls were on once in 2003 when they traveled to West Point to meet Army. A huge rainstorm drove the GameDay crew indoors and forced Lee Corso into the only time he couldn’t do his mascot-head prediction. He was prepared to pick the Bulls, who won 28-0.

Anyway, here’s a sampling of the complaints about GameDay’s snub of THE BEST STORY IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL (spoiler alert: that’s USF).

Oh, and as a friendly reminder to GameDay, USF's new on-campus stadium is scheduled to open in 2027, with the first game against Louisville.
