The USF men’s basketball team dispatched West Georgia with relative ease Friday, cruising to a 74-55 win at the Yuengling Center.

USF improved to 2-2 on the season, while West Georgia fell to 0-4.

After sitting out the previous game against Arkansas Pine Bluff on the coach’s decision, Jamille Reynolds led the way for the Bulls with 12 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocked shots.

Jimmie Williams recorded a team-high 14 points. CJ Brown and Brandon Stroud both tallied 11 points.

The Bulls played without regular starters Jayden Reid and Kobe Knox, but it didn’t seem to slow them down. Of the nine players who dressed, no one played more than 30 minutes, and none had less than 11 minutes.

“I thought our guys did a great job of having a next-man-up mentality and coming out and performing, especially on the defensive end in the first half, to help us pull out a win,” interim head coach Ben Fletcher said.

“I thought we did a good job of showcasing our versatility. We’ve got a bunch of guys, one through 10, that we can count on to score, defend, and do a lot of different things for us. And I think that that was evident tonight.”

Fletcher said he was pleased with Reynolds’ performance as the 6-11 forward dominated in the paint.

“He's, he's a handful in there, man. He's strong, but he's skilled on top of that, which is a dangerous combo with him. But to do what he did against Florida, to get 17 (points) there, like he's capable of doing that every night that we come out. As long as we can keep him in shape and have him make the right decisions, you know, he he's got a chance to be special for us.”

The USF bench outscored the Wolves’ bench 32-8 as a team, and the Bulls held a dominating 46-26 edge in the paint. The Bulls also forced ten turnovers.

The next stop for USF is the Myrtle Beach Invitational, which will start on November 21. The Bulls play Portland in the first of three games they will have in the tournament.
