USF scored big in the transfer portal Tuesday when Stanford wide receiver Mudia Reuben said no to Bill Belichick and yes to Alex Golesh and the Bulls.

He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining.

At 6-foot-2 and 205 pounds, Reuben becomes an inviting target for quarterbacks Byrum Brown and Bryce Archie. That bolsters a position group needing an upgrade following the graduation of record-setting receiver Sean Atkins.

The Bulls Insider site on Rivals.com reported that Reuben chose USF over North Carolina and West Virginia.

Reuben played three games in 2024 before suffering a season-ending foot injury.

He had multiple offers coming out of Park Hill High School in Kansas City, Mo. Offers for the three-star receiver included Vanderbilt, Air Force, Navy, Arkansas, and Tulane before he chose Stanford.

Recruiting analyst Allen Trieu for 247 Sports had him projected as a Power 4 starter.

“Big, well-built receiver prospect. Picked up football as a high school sophomore, so had initial rawness to work through, but has picked up the game quickly. Has natural ball skills and can make tough catches in traffic. Strong all around but has particularly strong hands,” Trieu wrote.

“Has taken to the physical side of the game and is a willing blocker. When he gets to full speed, he shows he can change direction and create separation. Still can add top end speed, but has some twitch and quickness off the line of scrimmage. Relative inexperience combined with size and natural athleticism give him a higher ceiling.”

He entered the portal after Stanford fired head coach Troy on March 25.

Cardinal Sports Report noted, "Reuben has good physical tools to work and is a versatile athlete, given his soccer background. He also has a high IQ and good understanding of what he’s supposed to do on the field. If he can stay healthy, he’s got the chance to add depth at the wide receiver position and possibly play the best football of his career."

USF also picked up linebacker depth when Chavez Brown settled on the Bulls. He spent the previous two seasons at North Texas. In 2024, he had a combined 49 tackles and four sacks.
