USF hasn't been "the hunted" in football for several years, but the Bulls are in that position on Friday when they travel to North Texas for their second American Conference game.

Yes, North Texas is undefeated (5-0) while the Bulls are 4-1, but the buildup in Denton apparently is unlike anything the Mean Green have experienced in years. UNT's president has canceled all afternoon classes on game day to give students and faculty members time to experience the pregame festivities.

UNT is building this up like its own version of the Super Bowl.

The school's hype machine called this game "a historic moment for North Texas football" because it is the first time the team has been 5-0 since 1959. Officials expect 30,000-seat DATCU Stadium to be filled (an unusual occurrence) and the decibel level to be enormous.

Then again, USF has already played before raucous and much larger crowds this season at The Swamp and Miami's Hardrock Stadium. And there was last season's trip to Alabama, which many players for this USF team experienced.

The Bulls enter this game ranked 24th in the AP poll. A win would likely elevate them even more.
