The South Florida men's basketball team received a major boost Wednesday with the announcement that Josh Omojafo has rejoined the Bulls for another season.

The 6-foot-5 guard was a key component for the Bulls run to the American Conference regular-season and tournament championships in the 2025-26 season. He started 32 of USF's 34 games and averaged 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game. He had a season high 33 points against George Washington and had 20 points and 11 rebounds at Alabama.

He will fill the roster spot that came open when guard AJ Dancier needed knee surgery that will keep him out of actionfor the upcoming season.

"We're excited to welcome Josh back to the Bulls," Bulls coach Chris Mack said. "Josh is tremendously athletic, rebounds, defends, plays hard and contributes in many ways that help a team win at a high level. With the unfortunate injury to AJ that will keep him out for the season, we had a roster position available and our players and staff are all-in to welcome Josh back and get to work."

Omojafo played last season as a senior but became eligible for an extra year under the NCAA's new eligibility rule. Athletes now can compete for five years instead of just four. It eliminates the need for red-shirt seasons or waivers for those missed because of an injury.

He gives the Bulls another long-range shooter. He shot 22-of-74 (29.7 percent) from beyond the arch and also led the team with 151 made free throws. His 193 free throw attempts was second on the team.

Omojafo, a native of Hamilton, Ontario Canada, signed with the Brampton Honey Badgers of the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) in April. It did not affect his ability to return to USF.

The Bulls have an exhibition game on October 19 against Saint Leo at the Yuengling Center before opening the regular season on November 2 at home against Charleston Southern.
