Mother Nature accomplished something that USF wasn’t able to do. It stopped Miami.
Well, delaying the Hurricanes is a more accurate way to describe it. The game at Hard Rock Stadium was stopped early in the second quarter when weather forecasters spotted lightning within eight miles of the stadium.
Both teams exited the field with Miami leading 14-3.
The game was scheduled to resume at 6:33 p.m. after an original announcement said 6:05 p.m. EDT.
Now it’s 7:07 p.m.
UM quarterback Carson Beck has had his way so far, helped by great protection from his offensive line. He has hit 8-of-10 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.
Miami has also rushed 11 times for 57 yards.
USF has only seven yards rushing on five tries against the tough ‘Canes defensive line. Quarterback Byrum Brown is 4-of-7 for 55 yards.
USF got on the board with a 45-yard field goal by Nico Gramatica.
