That didn’t take long.

Former USF wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling found a new home one day after he was released by the Seattle Seahawks. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers.

It’s potentially a great landing spot for the veteran receiver. The 49ers’ receiving corps has been hit hard by injuries, so Valdes-Scantling should have an opportunity to make an impact with a team widely favored to rebound from a subpar season in 2024.

Valdes-Scantling, 30, had signed a one-year $4 million contract with Seattle in March. It included $3 million in guaranteed money.

He entered the NFL in 2018 after his career at USF. In his time in the league, Valdes-Scantling played with quarterbacks Aaron Rodgers at Green Bay, Patrick Mahomes at Kansas City, and Josh Allen at Buffalo before ending last season with the New Orleans Saints.

He won two Super Bowls with Kansas City and caught the first TD pass for the Chiefs in their 2023 win.

It wouldn’t be unusual to see him get an opportunity with another team that needs a veteran receiver.

So stay tuned.

This is what we know about how other former USF players fared on cut-down day. We'll update as more information comes available.:
