A day after setting a program record for runs scored in a single game, USF's baseball team spent most of the afternoon struggling to get a baserunner against Georgia Southern.
However, when it counted most, the Bulls came through with a two-run rally in the ninth inning for a 4-3 win. It ran USF's winning streak to six games and its overall record to 7-1.
The Bulls have had to come from behind in all seven wins, including Saturday's 29-4 (not a misprint) demolition of the Eagles.
Of course, in that game USF had plenty of time to make up ground after the Eagles jumped in front in the first inning. On Sunday afternoon at Red McEwen Field, things were a little more dicey.

The Bulls trailed 2-0 going into the bottom of the seventh and had been held to just two hits before they plated two runs to tie the score. But the Eagles scored in the eighth to regain the lead, and the Bulls had to rally again.
And they did.
Jake Kulikowski hit a lead-off double, and Nathan Earley singled to advance him to third. A single by Lance Trippel scored pinch-runner Gabe Graulau to tie the game. After Jack Lutz was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Jacob Green's fly ball to right was deep enough to allow Eli Thomas to score the winning run.
This was USF's last home game until March 3, when the Bulls host Stetson. They will be at Bethune-Cookman followed by a three-game series starting next Friday at UCF.
