After every potentially returning player for the USF men's basketball team enter the Transfer Portal, new USF head coach Chris Mack has the first evidence that the door swings both ways.
Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 reported that point guard Chris Davis will follow Mack to the Bulls. Davis was productive this season as a freshman at the College of Charleston. Davis played in 31 games this season for the Cougars, with eight starts.
He averaged 7.6 points per game and shot 38.8 percent on 3-pointers. He was in double figures in three of his last five games.
Davis came to Charleston after a sterling high career in Wisconsin.
He led the state in scoring his last two years in high school, averaging 35.2 points per game during the 2024-2025 season at Sun Prairie East. The season before, he averaged a state-best 40.8 points per game as a junior.
He was also the back-to-back player of the year in his conference. Interestingly, Davis was also recruited by Arkansas State after then-coach Bryan Hodgson left there for USF.
When Davis signed with Charleston, Mack noted: "At 6'4", he has terrific size and will be able to play either guard position in college. Like many freshman, he has some things he must improve but his talent and drive to improve are evident. Chris has a chance to be a special player for Charleston."

The 6-4 freshman averaged 7.6 last season at Charleston. Went for double-figures in 5 of the last 8 games - including 17 in the regular-season finale against UNCW.
The addition is welcome news to USF fans after the mass exodus of players who led the Bulls to their second regular-season American Conference championship in three seasons. That was followed by USF winning the conference tournament and advancing to the NCAA tournament, where they were narrowly beaten 83-79 by Louisville.
Following Hodgson's departure to Providence College, nine USF players entered the Transfer Portal. Thus far, only Gavin Hightower has found a new home. He'll be joining Hodgson at Providence.
Guard Wes Enis, arguably the top former Bull in the portal, is still on the open market. It was widely assumed initially that he would also go to Providence, but that may not be the case.
Jayhawk Slant of the On.3 platform reported that Kansas is interested in Enis, and there could be other suitors as well. 247Sports ranked Enis as the No. 3 overall shooting guard in the portal.
There is no immediate word on how the market is shaking out for another Charleston player who entered the portal. Christian Reeves, a 7-foot-2 center, is shopping for a new home.
