The rebuilding of USF's quarterback room has begun in earnest with the news that Luke Kromenhoek committed to joining the Bulls.

On3.com reported that Kromenhoek, a 5-star prospect coming out of high school, will have three years of eiigibility remaining. He began his college career at Florida State in 2024, where he threw for 502 yards and three touchdowns as a true freshman. He also rushed for 113 yards.

Andrew Ivins of 247Sports referred to him as a "dynamic athlete" coming out of high school.

"Velocity is by far one of his biggest strengths at this stage in his development as he can challenge tight coverage windows and get the ball across the field on a tight line," Ivins wrote. "More than comfortable operating on the move and is built for an offense that has plenty of designed quarterback runs on the call sheet given his overall toughness as a runner."

Kromenhoek transferred to Mississippi State after leaving Tallahassee. He appeared in three games for the Bulldogs last season, preserving his redshirt.

New USF coach Brian Hartline almost certainly wll add at least two more quarterbacks either through the Transfer Portal or through National Signing Day in February. The Bulls top three quarterbacks from the 2025 season will not be returning. Byrum Brown and Locklan Hewlett transferred to Auburn and Gaston Moore has used up his eligibility.

Hartline's roster rebuild continued at other positions as well.

Safety Malcolm Ziglar, a 4-star safety who was rated the 53rd best player in the nation coming out of high school, committed to the Bulls after playing two seasons at North Carolina.

Defensive back Ayden Jackson joins the Bulls after three seasons at Georgia Southern. Jackson was named to the All Sun Belt Conference third team last season,. He had 74 tackles, including 3.5 for loss, along with a team-high three interceptions, three pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.

Jackson will be joined at USF by another Georgia Southern teammate, offensive lineman Caleb Cook.

Linebacker Sam Robinson, another 4-star player in high school, played last season at Rutgers. On3 rated him as the No. 28 linebacker nationally.
