It's a lot less lonely around the USF men's basketball program over the last few days.

After staring at a vacant roster after every Bull eligible to return opted for the Transfer Portal instead, new head coach Chris Mack has begun to build his team. Five players have committed to USF -- including four through the portal -- and Mack is getting kudos for each one.

On Wednesday, 6-foot-8 high school senior Jake Feldhaus committed to USF after originally committing to Belmont. Feldhaus was this year's Kentucky Mr. Basketball.

Feldhaus averaged 20.7 points per game and 13 rebounds at Madison Central High in Richmond, Ky. Feldhaus reopened his recruiting after Casey Alexander, the coach he committed to at Belmont, left to take the head coaching job at Kansas State.

Sonny Wilson, a 6-foot-1 point guard from Pontiac, Mich., committed to the Bulls. Dayton and Wisconsin were among the teams interested in Wilson, who is said to have ability to score from all three levels. He averaged nearly 18 points a game this season for Toledo and was 38 percent from behind the arc.

He also drives to the basket and gets to the foul line. He shot 69 percent from the stripe.

The Bulls picked up some beef in the middle with 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward Zayden High from North Carolina. Tar Heel Wire noted, "High has all the tools to be a successful big man, highlighted by his impressive rebounding ability. With an occasional 3-point shot, endless hustle and energy, High is exactly the type of player (Chris Mack) needs to continue building his program."

Garrett Johnson, a 6-foot-8 guard, comes to USF from George Washington. Coming off a torn ACL injury that caused him to miss the 2024-25 season, Johnson logged about 22 minutes per game in his 29 appearances.

Mack also scored a talented guard who played for him last season at the College of Charleston. As a freshman, Chris Davis, Jr. averaged 7.6 points per game and shot 38.8 percent on 3-pointers.
