USF's women's lacrosse team has a chance to make a significant statement on Wednesday afternoon when the Bulls will face 7th-ranked Florida in Gainesville.

In just the program's second season, the Bulls rank 24th in the Inside Lacrosse poll, 24th in theNCAA Division I RPI, and received votes in the Top 25 KANE Women's Division I Media Poll. A win at Florida would enhance all of those rankings.

Coach Mindy McCord's team also is tied for first with Vanderbilt at 3-0 in the American Conference. The Bulls have won four of their last five games and are 8-3 overall. They are coming off the first double overtime win program history, a 9-8 comeback win over Liberty.

After the game at Florida, USF has only two home games left in the regular season -- April 11 vs. Charlotte and April 18 vs. East Carolina. They conclude the regular season April 25 at Vanderbilt. The American Conference tournament starts April 30 in Nashville.

USF's softball team will also travel to Gainesville on Wednesday for a matchup with the 7th-ranked Florida Gators. The 7 p.m. game will be carried on ESPN2.

The Bulls are 29-12 overall and tied for first in the conference with North Texas.

Florida and USF met in Tampa on February 8. The Gators took a 6-1 win.

The Gators are 36-5 overall.

After dropping three straight coonference games, the Bulls have rebounded to win four of their last five outings.

USF will have just one non-conference game remaining after playing the Gators. The American Conference tournament begins May 6 in Greenville, N.C.

Baseball team rallies past Memphis

Freshman Michael Senay won his sixth game against no losses as the Bulls knocked off Memphis 5-0 to improve to 24-8 overall and 5-4 in the conference.

The Bulls were coming off their first lost conference series of the season when Charlotte took two out of three. But they got back on track by winning two of three against Memphis and stand tied for fourth in the American.

Senay has been sensational after signing with USF out of East River High School in Orlando. USF has won seven of his eight starts, including three conference wins. He has allowed only eight earned runs in 53.2 innings.

He has walked only seven batters while striking out 41. His ERA is a microscopic 1.34.

In the win over Memphis, he allowed only four hits through seven innings.

The Bulls are back in action on Tuesday at home against Florida Gulf Coast. They will travel to UTSA next weekend for a three-game series.

Beach Volleyball continues hot streak

The Beach Bulls are making noise in their inaugural season.

They improved to 18-6 overall by taking three wins in four tries at the Georgia State Diggin Duals in Atlanta. They are one of four unbeaten teams in Conference USA.

The Bulls return to action on April 10 at the Boise State Beach Bash. They will be joined by Grand Canyon, Washington, Florida International, and the host Boise State Broncos.
