The USF women’s soccer team stretched its winning streak to five straight matches as the Bulls continue to rebound from a rough start to their season.
The Bulls blanked East Carolina 1-0 on Thursday to improve to 2-0 in American Conference play. USF is now 6-4 overall after starting the season with four losses in its first five games.
Yui Suetsugu’s goal was all USF needed against the Pirates (3-4-2, 1-1 American) in the match at Corbett Stadium.
The Bulls will try to win a third consecutive conference game when they travel to Memphis on September 25 at 8 p.m. The game will be carried on ESPN+.
Men’s soccer stays unbeaten, earns honors
The men’s soccer team (3-0-4, 1-0) is back in action on Sunday, September 21, 8 p.m. at Tulsa.
The Bulls haven’t played since September 12, when they opened American Conference play with a 1-0 win over UAB.
USF’s Jahiem Wickham earned Goalkeeper of the Week in the conference for a second time, while midfielder Pedro Faife picked up an honorable mention.
Faife scored the match-winning goal against UAB.
Volleyball travels to Omaha for challenging slate
The Bulls will spend the weekend in Nebraska for three games, including two matchups against ranked opponents.
After opening against the Omaha Mavericks (3-4) on Friday at 7 p.m., USF will face 18th-ranked Creighton on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The trip concludes with a match at 11 a.m. on Sunday against No. 17 Kansas. That will be USF's final game before opening conference play on September 24 at home against Florida Atlantic.
The Bulls (3-5) snapped a two-game losing streak in their last outing by toppling Dayton in a grueling five-set match in Minneapolis. It was USF’s first road win of the season and its first in four meetings against the Flyers.
