We know how the Transfer Portal forced a wholesale makeover of the USF football and men’s basketball rosters. But new women’s basketball coach Kristy Curry wasn’t exempt from the chaos either.

Like Brian Hartline and Chris Mack, Curry had a significant rebuild of a roster that finished 20-12 last season. Of the 13 players currently on the roster, seven came through the portal. There are two freshmen and four holdovers from last season.

The two freshmen are particularly interesting.

Serenity Hardy, a 5-foot-9 guard from Lakeland, was a three-time Ledger Player of the Year in Polk County. She was named Miss Basketball 2026 by Florida Dairy Farmers and was the No. 1-ranked shooting guard in Florida and No. 13 overall in the state according to Prep Girls Hoops.

She has 3-point range and hit 128 free throws to finish in the top 250 in the country.

Then on Saturday, Curry signed Estonian 6-foot-2 national team forward Lisandra Vetesina. She played for the U18 Estonian national team in 2025.

"We are so excited to welcome Lisandra to our Bulls family. She brings great versatility, size and skill on the perimeter," Curry said. "She will fit perfectly into our system and style of play."

The Bulls still have an international flavor, but not in the numbers they had under former head coach Jose Fernandez. Instead of nearly an entire roster of players from outside the United States, this one so far features only five. Three of them are holdovers from last year -- 6-3 forward Fatou Diakite, 5-8 guard Lee Teichman, and 6-5 center Lana Vukcevic.

Counting football (41) and men's basketball (12), three of USF's main sports teams have a combined 60 new players via the portal.
