Edsel Caprice to USF

Edsel Caprice has decided to stay home and commit to USF.

Great news for the Bulls and Coach Holtz as Cape Coral standout Edsel Caprice has committed to USF for the 2011 season. The 3 star recruit (according to Rivals.com and Scout.com) decided to stay home in Florida after visiting North Carolina and looking at Wake Forest and Kentucky among others. This is a huge pick up for Holtz’s staff as they continue to build their fence around the Tampa area and recruit local talent. Cape Coral has been great to USF over the past few years, bringing in Taurus Johnson and Nate Allen, both in the NFL now.

The 6’2” 200 lb. joins Zack Bullock in the 2011 class and help add tremendous depth at the linebacker position for the Bulls (Caprice plays defensive end, but will make the switch to strong side linebacker). The Bulls are fairly thin at linebacker and lose Sabbeth Joseph after this year, so the Bulls need talent and playmakers for the rebuilding defense and Caprice fills that void.

Caprice is the 7th commit in the first real recruiting class for Holtz. While there is a long time before Caprice and others sign their letter of intent, it is exciting news for USF and the fans as the program continues to build.
