Injury Updates

Sabbah Joseph has returned to practice and will play against Stony Brook.

The Bulls have been dealing with injuries as they continue to prepare for the season opener against Stony Brook. There are many key players battling injuries and Coach Holtz needs everyone healthy.

Former defensive back Daniel Bryant injured his ankle and will be out for a while, there is no update yet on the severity of the injury. He has been working out receiver as the Bulls continue to look for depth. Coach Holtz says moving players around is over, there is no one else to move around. The Bulls will have to go with the way the current roster is set up and prepare for Stony Brook.

Sterling Griffin is scheduled to return in early October after dislocating his ankle and fracturing his leg. Senior receiver A.J. Love should return in late October after tearing an ACL during the spring game. The return of both receivers will be a big addition to the Bulls offense as they get into Big East play.

Staring linebacker Sabbath Joseph returned after sitting out practice the last week with concussion like symptoms. He is fully recovered and freshman linebacker DeDe Lattimore got repetitions with the first team defense (great experience for the depth chart). Free Safety John Lejiste continues to wear a cast over his broken right ring finger. The cast is not bothering him and he is participating in full practices.

Offensive tackle Mark Popek won’t play in the season opener and will be out a few more weeks as he recovers from a strained knee. Freshman offensive lineman Jake Kaufman wore a protective boot on his right injured ankle and missed practice earlier this week, there is no update on the extent of his injury.
